There are three kinds of people: Those who can count and those who can't.
"I do want a brother, but not a little brother. I want a big brother that can play the Wii with me all day - someone like Tarl." -- Esher (at Age 5) - answer to question "do you wish you had a brother?" Tarl is his 28 year old cousins-in-law.
"Look momma, it's a hospital-car." -- Esher (at Age 5) pointing to an ambulance next to them.
"i don't really like talking to girls i don't know cause then they'll like me and want to marry me." -- Esher, Age 5.
"They want me to pee in a cup even when there is a toilet right there???" -- Esher, confused at the doctor about the whole 'pee in a cup' thing.
"Dad, how much does a penny cost?" -- Tristan
"This is a short-cut, but a long one." -- Esher, while showing Lissette how to get back home from a neighbour's house.
"They sure write a lot and their handwriting isn't very good." -- Tristan's observation while walking around New York, as she looked at all of the graffiti.
"My hand ankle hurts." -- Paris, explaining that she hurt her wrist.
"In the temple families can be sealed together forever so they can’t get away from each other, even when they go to heaven." -- One of Paris' first testimonies in Sacrament meeting when she was 4.
"This game seems really easy - what, you get 4 chances to go 10 yards? Each side seems to find a way to screw that up though." -- Lissette's comment to me after my explaining to her the rules of football, about 1/2 the way thorugh the Chargers / Colts playoff game.
"Our car would be perfect if it made hot chocolate." -- Tristan's comment on the way back to the car after sledding.
"No mom, I think my tooth misses me." -- Tristan, being asked by Lissette if she missed her just pulled tooth.
"Then I'll be 7, then 8, then 9. And then I'll be a dad. And then I'll be tired of growing up and I'll die." -- Esher, telling Lissette his future plans.
"I think every year I get more and more beautiful." -- Paris, after showing Lissette her latest school pictures.
"I'm nice and I'm also pretty." -- Tristan’s answer in primary when asked what one of her talents was.
"OK Dad, you grab Paris and I'll carry Tristan." -- Esher (age 3), offering to help me carry the girls upstairs to bed after they fell asleep. Needless to say, he couldn't lift her.
"Mom, I just don't know what they are going to teach me. I'm so good already." -- Paris, after her first Art Class
"Mom, I'm trying to sleep but my sleepers broken" -- Esher, coming into our room after being in bed for 5 minutes
Dusty: "Do you wish I was your Dad?"
Paris: "No, I just want your money." -- Paris, after Dusty gave her a hand full of quarters for her 7th birthday.
3 wisecracks:
Okay, so you don't blog for 6 years, even though we all add your link to our blogs, then you start blogging one day without telling anyone (well, two people...) and then you get offended that no one is commenting... Hmmmm... maybe you should have TOLD a FEW of us that you were going to start posting so we would actually check in on you? HELLO! :)
By the way, if you haven't already sen it, I love the NEW improved Bloglist feature that shows WHEN people posted last along with their link! I have yet to use it and add all my links into it, but it will be a timesaver for SURE! :) Then I will know when you have posted and can help give you that overwhelming response of comments you are looking for! :)
Yeah, i'm a tyrant when it comes to wanting people to tell me how cool i am :-) I thought i'd sent you an e-mail telling you i was up and going again or something about the girls pics back in the day - but i might not have...i was working on a "social experiment" of seeing if the word would spread...it's ok, i know i don't have a lot of friends - nice to see you are one of them and aren't afraid of telling me like it is! :-)
I do love the bloglist feature...i started using it right after it came out and it is a great way to sort by Sweet Posters to Super Slackers!
i'm so delighted to see that your music taste is still as good as it was back in your T-Bird days. Rogue Wave is one of my current faves-saw them here in Boston a few months ago and they were so awesome live.
